Approach-angle planning

LOW-CLEARANCE TOWING

Low ride height can make the edge of a flatbed, a ramp, or a driveway the limiting point.

Describe the lowest points

Front splitters, side skirts, exhaust components, aftermarket suspension, and long overhangs can scrape at an approach angle that works for an ordinary car. Tell the dispatcher about modifications and any known ground-clearance measurement.

The location matters as much as the car

A steep garage exit or uneven curb can make loading harder than on level pavement. Explain the surface, slope, available truck length, and whether the car moves under its own power. Do not drive a damaged car merely to make loading easier.

Confirm the method

Ask how the vehicle will be loaded and whether special equipment or a different pickup location is needed. A flatbed request is not a promise of damage-free loading when conditions are unknown; the operator must assess the real site.
